Woody’s Bar & Grill Rocklin

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

Alright…so I really wish I had a funny story to go along with this…but it was a pretty quiet Monday evening, and I don’t have any funny stories. Sorry.

If you don’t know, Woody’s Bar & Grill has a tiki/island theme to it, kinda like the more common Islands. Not any island specifically, but a general tropical feel (and I really gotta try some of those drinks one of these days…but yesterday was not that day). Their pulled pork Cuban sandwiches are fantastic though.

Oops! Time to get back on track here…

I was really excited once I saw the doors to the bathrooms (marked Kane for men and Wahini for women)…they had giant carved heads (kinda like the Easter Island heads, many of you may know what I’m talking about from Night at the Museum…either one…or House Bunny…or both ;) ). In fact, I was so excited (“How excited were you?”)…so excited I took pictures of the doors…you can see them below. I was expecting Great Things for the rest of the bathroom…and was unfortunately disappointed. I would have liked there at least to have been a palm tree or two in the bathroom; that woulda been cool and carried the theme over. I’m thinking having the bathroom hot and humid like a jungle would be interesting but not necessarily user-friendly, and bathrooms really should be user-friendly (otherwise…whatta mess for the employees to have to deal with…yuck!)

Alas, there were no palm trees, snakes coming down from the ceiling, or insane humidity levels. Instead it was a pretty normal bathroom, clean and pleasant. I’ll go ahead and give it three rolls for being average and another half-roll for the tiki/Easter Island heads and what I assume was Hawaii’an terminology on the bathroom doors. So much potential!
